
Director, Business Analysis And Insights - Pricing Execution

Position Summary
This role is responsible for the daily execution and operational integrity of Walmart’s pricing, ensuring consistent delivery of Every Day Low Price (EDLP) across stores and digital channels. The Director of Pricing Operations owns the processes, controls, and teams that translate pricing direction into accurate, compliant, and timely price execution at scale.
What you’ll do
Pricing Execution & EDLP Stewardship
- Owns day-to-day pricing execution across categories and channels, ensuring prices are accurate, competitive, and aligned with EDLP principles.
- Ensures pricing changes are implemented correctly, on time, and at scale, minimizing customer disruption and operational friction.
- Maintains disciplined pricing guardrails to protect customer trust, price integrity, and financial outcomes.
- Acts as the final operational accountability point for pricing accuracy and execution quality.
Pricing Operations & Controls
- Leads end-to-end pricing operations, including price changes, exception handling, and store ticket pricing support.
- Establishes and enforces pricing controls, SOPs, and mechanisms to ensure consistent execution across the enterprise.
- Partners with Legal, Compliance, and Finance to ensure pricing practices meet regulatory and internal policy requirements.
- Drives root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes for pricing execution issues.
Executional Excellence & Throughput
- Designs and manages pricing workflows that balance speed, accuracy, and control in a high‑volume environment.
- Continuously improves operational processes to reduce manual effort, defects, rework, and execution risk.
- Measures operational performance using execution‑focused metrics (accuracy, timeliness, error rates, remediation cycle time).
- Ensures pricing operations can scale with business growth, assortment changes, and system evolution.
Systems, Tools & Automation
- Owns the operational use of pricing systems and tools; ensures teams are trained, compliant, and effective in daily usage.
- Partners with Technology and Product teams to improve system reliability and usability, reduce manual overrides, and increase automation.
- Act as the business owner for pricing operational requirements and readiness during system changes or launches.
Cross‑Functional Execution Partnership
- Works closely with Merchandising, Stores, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Finance, and Technology to ensure pricing execution supports business needs.
- Serves as the execution bridge between pricing direction and frontline implementation.
- Communicates clearly and decisively during high‑impact pricing events (rollbacks, cost changes, compliance issues).
People Leadership & Capability Building
- Leads and develops an operationally focused team responsible for daily pricing execution.
- Establishes clear accountability, operating rhythms, and escalation paths.
- Builds deep operational expertise within the organization through training, documentation, and standardization.
- Develops bench strength and succession plans for critical pricing operations roles.
Integrity, Compliance & Customer Trust
- Embeds Walmart’s standards of integrity and ethics into all pricing operations.
- Ensures teams follow pricing laws, policies, and internal controls.
- Promotes an environment where associates feel comfortable raising pricing concerns and issues.
- Upholds Walmart’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and customer trust in every pricing action.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, or related field and 5 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in data analytics, project management, business, or related area. 3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office. 4 years’ supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Consulting, Working on cross‑functional teams or projects. Masters: Business. Project Management – Project Management Professional – Certification, Six Sigma – Certification.
