A leading general contractor is looking to hire a Safety Director in Houston, TX. Working with cross-functional teams you will be responsible for ensuring safety excellence across their multitude of projects throughout the Texas region. The Role:
- Take ownership of the safety program for the region. Identifying areas for growth, continuous improvement and reporting back leadership to ensure a best in class safety culture
- Act as the SME for all safety matters across all the company projects within the region. Advising key stakeholders on compliance and legal requirements
- Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals working throughout the region
- Partner with cross-functional teams, embedding safety into the all stages of a project lifecycle
- Keep up to date with any legislation changes to ensure the organization is compliant with all local, state and federal requirements.
The Candidate:
- A minimum of 7-10 years leadership experience working in construction safety
- Proven experience managing a regional safety program and direct reports within the construction industry
- Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Quality or related discipline (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, across all business levels
- Lives locally in Houston and able to travel as required (circa. 40%-50%)
