Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation to lead our therapy department in a skilled nursing facility setting. The Director of Rehabilitation is responsible for overseeing therapy services, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing therapy staff, and optimizing patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the rehabilitation department including Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech Therapy (SLP) services.
- Supervise, mentor, and support therapy staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and state regulatory requirements .
- Monitor therapy utilization, productivity, and department performance metrics.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care planning with nursing, physicians, and facility leadership.
- Develop and implement rehabilitation programs to improve patient outcomes and functional independence.
- Manage staffing schedules, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for therapy staff.
- Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure timely billing practices.
- Maintain knowledge of current regulations and best practices in post-acute rehabilitation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Licensed Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of employment.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or post-acute setting .
- Prior leadership or management experience in rehabilitation services preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare Part A, PDPM, and rehab compliance regulations .
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
