HR Director

Overview

Our client, located in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and continuously optimize the organization’s HR management system (Paycom), supporting the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment in partnership with hiring managers, including hiring strategy, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
• Administer payroll and employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, vendor relationships, compliance, and employee education.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on employee relations, performance management, investigations, and documentation, handling sensitive matters with discretion and fairness.
• Maintain and update employee policies, handbooks, and HR resources to ensure clarity, accessibility, and compliance with federal and state employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA).
• Support professional development initiatives and internal committees, partnering with senior leadership and Board‑level stakeholders as needed.
• Foster an approachable, inclusive HR presence that promotes trust, transparency, and engagement across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required – Master’s preferred.
• SHRM or HRCI certification required.
• 5+ years of experience required, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience within the education or non‑profit field required.
• Paycom HRIS experience highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay: up to $125k salary. Eligible for discretionary bonuses, medical, dental, vision benefits, and participation in the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
