DCS Contracting has an opportunity for an Estimator to join our high-producing Estimating team. This position is responsible for preparing civil estimates for both Public Works Projects as well as Private Development Projects. The ideal candidate has the ability to prepare estimates for self-performing grading, paving, wet utilities and/or concrete.

Key Responsibilities
Completes accurate quantity take-offs
Sets up bids into Heavy Bid software
Reviews proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents for estimates
Understand and interpret project plans and specifications
Prepares material lists for assigned bids
Solicits quotes from subcontractors and suppliers and maintains correspondence
Analyzes and inputs quotes in an organized manner
Ability to compare and understand quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
Assists the Estimating team with tasks that relate to preparing estimates
Ability to work on multiple projects and help as needed with other estimating responsibilities
Meets all deadlines with necessary documentation
Participates in on-going estimating training
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent technical training and/or experience
3+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil projects including but not limited to grading, paving, concrete, and wet utilities
Knowledge of crew configurations and labor productions
Understanding of estimating techniques, cost control, subcontractor solicitation, and material specifications
Understanding and knowledge of municipal specifications and details
Experience using Heavy Bid, Hard Dollar, On-Screen Take off, and Agtek or similar estimating software
Knowledge of project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Bid, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) and Job Order Contracts (JOC)
Knowledge of Arizona heavy civil market is a plus

This is an in office position. Our office hours are 7am-4pm Monday-Friday.
