Primary Purpose The Senior Designer is responsible for developing ideas and executing product design in line with the conceptual direction for a season. They will lead the team under the guidance of the Design Director while partnering with individuals across departments in Merchandising, Product Development, Raw Materials, Technical Design, and Print.

Responsibilities

Participate in seasonal trend, market, and material research to support the overarching design concept.

Support the Design Director in managing team workflow, organization, and structure.

Manage the design process from conception through production.

Create and maintain detailed CADs and technical specification packages to accurately communicate design intent, construction details, and material usage to factories and PD partners.

Contribute to the overall cohesion of each seasonal assortment, working closely with other members of the design team to ensure a well-rounded product line is realized; provide recommendations regarding seasonal themes and line edits.

Ensure that the product is of high quality and consistent with market trends and business strategy.

Support the preparation of design presentations, mood boards, and visual tools for key milestone meetings.

Build strong relationships with cross‑functional partners across merchandising, product development, hardware design, and print to define the seasonal framework and ensure creative ideas and business goals are aligned and executed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

8+ years of experience in leather goods, with a strong foundation in handbag construction.

Experience working within brands, with a clear understanding of brand DNA, commercial viability, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Proven experience building commercially successful handbag collections using a good / better / best strategy, with the ability to deliver compelling layers/animations that drive customer engagement.

Strong computer knowledge, including Adobe Illustrator.

Strong hand‑sketching ability.

Strong design and conceptual skills.

Strong sense of trends, style, and color.

Knowledge of raw materials and construction techniques.

Graphic design experience and familiarity with prints (a plus).

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Understanding of merchandising as it relates to sales and store environment.

Base Pay Range $113,000.00 – $157,000.00
