The Role The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the development of RFQ/RFP responses and client interview materials that position Suffolk as the partner of choice. This role works closely with other pursuit marketing team members, regional leadership, operations, preconstruction, and business development to create best‑in‑class materials that communicate a strong value proposition and support the company’s vision.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of best‑in‑class RFQ/RFP responses and interview materials
Collaborate with stakeholders including leadership, operations, preconstruction, and business development to clearly define and articulate pursuit value propositions
Create compelling pursuit content – layouts, narratives, and graphics that emphasize the value proposition and Suffolk differentiators in accordance with RFQ/RFP requirements
Collect, enhance, and quality‑check all aspects of pursuit materials from various internal and external stakeholders
Manage the timeline and process for key pursuits, facilitating the pursuit kickoff meeting, tracking and incorporating all deliverables, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to the client
Collaborate with pursuit marketing team members in other regions to leverage best practices and share lessons learned
Manage concurrent assignments to deliver materials that adhere to quality, branding, and content standards
Facilitate internal debrief sessions after key pursuits to identify opportunities for continued improvement
Partner with corporate marketing team and outside vendors to identify and develop creative solutions to enhance RFQ/RFP responses and interview materials
Develop collateral and provide information to support business development efforts
Manage or support regional marketing activities, events, and communications, as needed
Stay abreast of industry trends and represent Suffolk within the local A/E/C community, as needed
Provide support and training for junior team members and/or seasonal interns, as needed.
Qualifications
5+ years in marketing within the AEC industry required
BS/BA with concentration in marketing, business, English, journalism, or communications preferred
Proven ability to initiate work, make strategic decisions, and follow through to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on client service
Ability to anticipate needs, problem‑solve, and proactively respond to challenges
Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality
Excellent writing skills and strong design sense with a high level of creativity
Highly organized with the ability to multi‑task and work well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
Eagerness to expand knowledge and continuously enhance skills within the AEC industry
Strong technical proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign) and Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint)
Curiosity to explore and embrace new technologies, processes, and tools

Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine‑motor hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking may also be required.
