Senior Director of Compensation Consulting, Corporate Functions

This role partners closely with senior leaders and executives to translate business priorities into competitive, equitable, and compliant compensation programs, while driving large, complex initiatives with enterprise-wide impact. Serving as a trusted advisor, the Senior Director provides direct compensation leadership for Truist Corporate Functions, including Human Resources, Finance, Legal, Audit, Risk, Technology, Data and Operations, and the Office of Corporate and Administrative Affairs. The senior director directly manages and develops a team of compensation professionals and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes through strong governance, clear executive communication, and disciplined execution.

Responsibilities

Manage the execution of comprehensive compensation strategies established by Senior Management and Executives.

Manage complex compensation programs covering base pay, short-term and long-term incentives, allowances, deferred compensation, sales compensation, non-cash rewards and recognition programs.

Lead job analysis, evaluation, classification, benchmarking, and market survey participation to maintain competitive and equitable compensation.

Provide strategic guidance on compensation to Senior Management and Executives.

Collaborate with external consultants and vendors to design and enhance compensation programs and policies.

Oversee communications regarding compensation program features, plans, and options to diverse stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and financial reporting related to compensation.

Manage and develop a team of compensation professionals.

Lead large, complex compensation projects and initiatives with significant organizational impact.

Establish operational plans and goals for the compensation function with short- to mid-term impact (0‑3 years).

Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.

Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in compensation with progressive management responsibilities.

Strong knowledge of all aspects of compensation program design and management.

Experience leading projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced graduate degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.

Experience in the financial services industry.
