Job Overview We are seeking a Direct Tax Compliance Specialist to support Direct Tax Compliance processes related to income tax compliance, projections, forecasting, audit defense, and assist with accounting for income tax requirements for the U.S.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day Direct Tax Compliance processes which include coordinating with outside service providers on the preparation of direct tax returns and reviewing both federal and state tax filings as well as supporting workpapers. Responsibilities also include gathering and analyzing information needed by external service providers and preparing supporting workpapers as needed.
Assist with accounting for income taxes, including updating the blended state rates, calculating tax adjustments and other matters for the U.S. to ensure compliance with tax laws and U.S. GAAP requirements. You will also assist with tax audits, including responding to information requests.
Ensure that direct tax compliance requirements for the U.S. are timely and accurately met and that tax policies are followed including compliance with internal standards on completion dates, record retention and workpaper support.
Monitor tax legislative events, tax-planning and business initiative developments. You will also provide management with ongoing income tax guidance and support.
Develop and continually improve direct tax compliance processes and ways of working.
Contribute to a high performing Tax team in the U.S.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
3+ years of federal and state tax experience including compliance review and audit defense preferably in a CPA firm and with large US multinational tax experience.
Advanced degree in accounting or taxation preferred.
Experience in U.S. Federal and tax accounting (ASC 740).
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and online tax research tools (CCH, BNA, and/or RIA).
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and communicate to non-tax individuals.
Strong organizational skills and ability to accurately, completely, and timely meet project deadlines.
Desire to grow and take on a leadership role with strong intellectual curiosity.
Experience performing tax work in a large public accounting firm or large publicly traded multinational corporation.
Salary and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $86,900 to $119,515. The exact salary depends on experience, skills, education and location, and the role is eligible for a highly competitive bonus program. Benefits include health insurance, wellness and family support programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave, education programs, paid holidays and vacation. No relocation support is available.
