Cortex GTM Manager

Palo Alto Networks, Santa Clara, CA, United States

Job Summary We’re looking for a key member of our GTM team to execute the growth strategy for our Endpoint Security business.

This role focuses primarily on post‑sales initiatives to drive quarterly attainment and long‑term customer success. Sample responsibilities include optimizing post‑sales motions for renewals, cross‑sell and upsell, analyzing business performance to identify opportunities and risks, and driving GTM programs that have a direct impact on in‑quarter results.

The ideal candidate is a self‑starter, independent thinker, deeply analytical, and capable of working in a structured manner to thrive in ambiguous environments. You must be willing to roll up your sleeves, slice and dice massive sets of information, and create solutions to problems that have not been tackled yet.

This role is a hybrid of Corporate Strategy, Planning, and Sales Operations, providing an exciting career opportunity for an individual looking to transition from Strategy Consulting to a high‑growth industry and flex their strategy muscles to add value to the business.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the GTM operating plan by providing data‑driven insights to support quarterly business attainment.

Lead thoughtful, creative, and rigorous analysis (e.g., market sizing, coverage model analysis, business models) to synthesize insights and provide recommendations to GTM leadership.

Support efforts to achieve sales excellence by analyzing and identifying best practices related to post‑sales motions, including renewals, upsell, and cross‑sell, to maximize customer lifetime value.

Support strategic pivotal initiatives to drive both top‑line growth and profitability improvement across the Cloud & Cortex portfolio and markets.

Collaborate closely with Operations and Planning teams in various theaters to drive consistency in the approach for performance measurement, deployment, and customer retention.

Drive change and be willing to wear multiple hats (strategy development, GTM program design, project management, and execution) to move from ideation to execution.

Build an expansive internal network to bring all possible expertise and resources to bear on projects, ensuring sales strategy is impactful.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of relevant work experience (pre‑MBA), or recent MBA graduates with up to 2 years of post‑MBA experience in management consulting or top‑tier tech strategy or “bizops” functions.

MBA graduate from a top‑tier business school or equivalent academic credentials, or direct promote in Consulting or equivalent military experience.

GTM Strategy experience or projects in the B2B software industry.

Self‑starter who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, experience using reporting and analytics applications such as Salesforce, Tableau, and GCP.

Prior experience in planning, designing, and implementing Sales Improvement solutions at a global scale.

Knowledge of the cybersecurity industry is a plus, but not required.
