
Substation Foreman

Job Summary
The Substation Foreman supervises and assists with the day‑to‑day activities of the substation employees and the related project, reporting directly to the project manager assigned to the project. The Foreman must be able to perform duties from groundman to leadman.
Responsibilities
Create, maintain, and execute the project plan to schedule and ensure compliance with budget.
Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.
Track and communicate weekly project reports and generate a 3‑week look‑ahead.
Ensure project materials and workmanship meet the project quality standards and design requirements.
Initiate and conduct project meetings with staff assigned to the project and management if necessary.
Review and address plan details; resolve issues before they result in added budget expenditures.
Advise the superintendent of any potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.
Enforce site‑specific plans and procedures that are in line with EEI’s culture and safety requirements.
Review and submit weekly timesheets to payroll for processing.
Maintain the project’s daily job diary.
Minimum Qualifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook and internal operational systems.
Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
Ability to visualize the entire project and anticipate constructability issues and embed solutions into the construction plans and schedules.
Must be able to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency.
Ability to manage others and many facets of the construction project and assume responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Obtain and maintain a valid State Class A driver’s license and/or hold and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license.
OSHA 30‑hour certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a field environment. The role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting (including lifting in awkward positions), standing, and twisting. The work may be in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, wind). The position is physically active, requiring the ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. Vision clarity at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less and precise hand‑eye coordination are required. The employee must be able to identify and distinguish colors.
