Territory Account Executive – Financial Services (SDIRA & Alternative Investments)


  • Candidates MUST have the required industry related experience for consideration: financial services, banking, alternative investments, IRA/retirement services, or related investment-based industries.
  • Must live in close proximity to a major airport, and within a comfortable distance to travel into NYC 3 time/week on average.
  • This is a true hunter-style sales role requiring consistent new business development, proactive prospecting, and self-generated pipeline creation within an assigned territory.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $85,000 – $100,000. Year 1 Expected Earnings: $120,000 – $130,000. On-Target Earnings in Year 2 (OTE): $200,000+ (uncapped). Commission Plan: Provided at offer stage.


Location & Travel:

  • Must be based near Jersey City, NJ / NYC metro area. Expected presence in New York City approximately 3 days per week for client meetings.
  • Territory coverage includes NY, NJ, Eastern PA, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, ME (however, their focus is mainly NYC). Travel consists of regional driving/rail plus occasional air travel.


Overview:

  • Our client is expanding its national sales organization and is hiring an Account Executive to drive growth across the Northeast.
  • This is a fully remote, territory-based role requiring consistent in-person engagement with clients and prospects.
  • The position focuses on building relationships with both individual investors and financial professionals within the retirement and alternative investment space.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate new business through in-person meetings, referrals, and outbound prospecting.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline across B2C and B2B channels.
  • Educate clients on retirement structures and alternative investment solutions.
  • Execute a structured territory plan to achieve revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate CRM tracking and pipeline reporting.
  • Partner with internal teams to support onboarding and client success.
  • Attend industry events and networking functions to expand visibility.
  • Develop referral and strategic partner relationships within the territory.


Qualifications:

  • 2–5+ years of sales experience within financial services, banking, alternative investments, IRA/retirement services, or related investment-based industries.
  • Direct experience in banking, wealth management, retirement accounts (e.g., IRAs/401(k) services), or investment/alternative asset sales strongly preferred; candidates outside these verticals will not be considered competitive.
  • Proven ability to prospect, manage pipeline, and close business.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable with travel, and client-facing.
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently in a remote structure.


Ideal Profile:

  • Experience working with financial advisors or investor-facing channels.
  • Exposure to alternative investments such as real estate or private markets is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong drive and accountability.
  • Ability to balance relationship development with consistent sales execution.
