Public Relations Manager – Expedia Group Manage the consumer PR strategy and execution for Expedia’s U.S. brand. Develop and execute creative, highly engaging PR campaigns and activities that resonate strongly with travelers and top‑tier consumer media. Act as an invaluable advisor on high‑profile marketing campaigns, storytelling opportunities and risks to the brand.

Location: Austin, TX or Los Angeles, CA. Reports to the Director, Global Public Relations of Expedia and works closely with the Global Communications and Marketing teams.

In this role, you will:

Develop and execute strategic PR campaigns and initiatives that produce standout coverage aligned with key business objectives.

Drive integrated communications plans that support Expedia brand objectives, working closely with U.S. and global PR colleagues and stakeholders from the broader marketing and communications teams.

Maintain a deep understanding of the business and stay up to date on trends and developments in the travel industry, monitoring industry and competitor media coverage.

Work closely with the U.S. media relations team on activities across earned, owned and paid channels within PR’s remit.

Partner with the global crisis communications team to advise on and help manage reactive PR issues that influence perceptions of the brand and impact the greater Expedia Group business.

Manage campaign and project timelines, develop content including press materials and messaging, and create and deliver presentations that drive influence and build support across the business.

Analyze and use data and insights to inform storytelling, ensuring a steady drumbeat of always‑on media coverage.

Support operational needs, including vendor and agency management, budget management, and development of coverage and status reports.

Experience and qualifications

Minimum of 7 years experience in PR, Media Relations or Marketing Communications roles in a consumer agency or in‑house environment.

Proven record of working successfully in highly matrixed organizations to align PR efforts with broader business objectives, including cross‑functional teams such as marketing, social media and creative teams.

Bias towards action: take ownership of outcomes, analyze and use insights to inform decisions, and provide clarity to the business.

Ability to manage stakeholders effectively and handle fast‑paced environments with quick‑turn timelines and changing requirements.

Strong experience in media relations, with excellent understanding of media landscape and key consumer media contacts across print, online and broadcast outlets.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Outstanding project management and organizational skills.

Ability to synthesize data into logical conclusions and recommendations to uncover unique storytelling opportunities.

Ability to think creatively and adapt quickly to match the travel landscape.

Strong background in the travel, hospitality, lodging, vacation rental or e‑commerce industry. Experience with well‑known brands is a plus.

Issues/crisis management experience is a plus.

Compensation and location The total cash range for this position in Austin is $110,500.00 to $155,000.00, with potential to increase up to $177,000.00 based on performance. The range for West Hollywood (Los Angeles) is identical. Starting pay will vary based on location, budget and individual experience.
