
Technical Staff Engineer - Product Marketing

Overview Microchip Technology Inc. has a Technical Staff Engineer - Product Marketing opening in our Data Center Solutions Business Unit. The successful candidate will support China Data Center and Server/Storage client engagements in a Product Marketing role. This position requires collaboration with sales and product management to develop and execute an account-based strategy for Microchip’s China OEM, ODM, and Data Center customers.
Responsibilities Create key deliverables such as RFQ responses, pricing strategy, market and competitive analysis, and collaborate with product management to produce compelling product collateral.
Communicate clearly and effectively, with the ability to present to customers and internal audiences.
Understand server and storage data center technologies and foster client engagement within data center equipment OEMs and/or hyperscale clients.
Demonstrate a self-starter, self-directed, highly motivated approach with a focus on making an impact.
Requirements / Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience required.
Master’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent business education/experience preferred.
12.5+ years of semiconductor product marketing experience.
Storage solutions marketing experience.
Experience with storage and SOC technologies including SAS, SATA, PCIe, NVMe, RAID, memory technologies, device drivers, and embedded firmware.
Experience working with data center and/or server/storage customers.
Familiarity with data center architectures and trends.
Strong ability to establish external customer and partnership relationships.
Strong communication and presentation skills to influence internal and external customers and key decision makers on technology and strategy.
Aggressive focus on winning design opportunities and driving business plans.
Proven ability to gain cross-functional support for department goals.
Travel: 20-30% in the US/Asia.
Travel 25% - 50%

Compensation & Benefits Base salary range for this position, potentially based in the US, is $91,000 – $232,000. Compensation includes base pay, restricted stock units, quarterly bonuses, health benefits from day one, retirement savings plans, and an industry-leading ESPP with a 2-year look-back feature.
Range is dependent on location, skills, and experience.
