Fort Wayne, Indiana | Updated on April 3, 2026 Business Development Representative About the Role Overview We are seeking a driven Business Development Representative to support growth initiatives for our civil engineering consulting services. This entry‑level role provides hands‑on exposure to public‑sector pursuits, client engagement, and the full business development lifecycle within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry. Key Responsibilities Support planning and execution of conferences, trade shows, and industry events (e.g., municipal, county, and state associations) Conduct market research focused on local governments, agencies, and infrastructure programs to identify upcoming project opportunities Track and maintain leads, client interactions, and pursuit activities within the CRM system Assist with business development outreach, including introductory calls and follow‑ups under guidance Represent the firm at community events such as ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and public meetings Support preparation of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other marketing materials Assist with social media and digital presence highlighting projects, community involvement, and firm capabilities Coordinate logistics, materials, and schedules for conferences, client meetings, and events Maintain organized records of pursuits, research, and outreach activities Participate in sales and AEC‑specific business development training and apply best practices Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills Professional presence and ability to interact with public‑sector clients and community stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven, proposal‑based environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM systems preferred Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or exposure to AEC, public sector, or professional services preferred) Occasional travel, including overnight stays, for industry events and client engagement Benefits Wessler Engineering offers a competitive wage, paid holidays, paid employee health and disability insurance, and 401(k) profit‑sharing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
