Role Description This is a part-time, remote-flexible role based in Washington, DC, for a Sales & Marketing Manager. You'll own both our online and brick-and-mortar sales efforts, and take the lead on building Smash Racket's brand presence from the ground up. This is a hands-on role — you won't just be setting strategy, you'll be executing it.
Key Responsibilities Drive brick-and-mortar and online sales, building relationships with retail partners, clubs, and local businesses
Develop and execute a social media strategy across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
Plan, shoot, and edit photo and video content that reflects the Smash Racket brand
Write captions, manage posting schedules, and actively engage with our audience
Run paid and organic digital marketing campaigns
Track performance metrics and report on what's working
Collaborate directly with the founder to align sales and marketing with business goals
Qualifications 3+ years of experience in sales and/or marketing (sports, lifestyle, or consumer brand experience is a plus)
Proven track record of growing social media accounts and driving online engagement
Comfortable behind the camera — experience creating content for Instagram and/or TikTok
Strong understanding of digital marketing, including paid ads and email marketing
Self-starter who thrives without a lot of hand-holding
Existing network in the DC sports, fitness, or hospitality scene is a strong plus
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred — but results matter more than credentials
Compensation This is a retainer + commission structure. We offer a monthly retainer to cover the marketing and content side of the role, plus commission on sales you directly drive. Equity is on the table for the right long-term fit. Specifics are discussed based on experience and scope.
