The Executive Director of Teaching and Learning provides leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for the district's instructional programs, ensuring that all students have equitable access to high-quality teaching and learning experiences.This role oversees curriculum development, instructional programs, assessment and evaluation, professional learning, and specialized services. The Executive Director works closely with school leaders, instructional staff, and community stakeholders to enhance student achievement, promote a culture of continuous improvement and align educational practices with district, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field (Doctorate preferred). Arizona Principal or Supervisor Certification (required); and Superintendent Certification (preferred) Minimum three (3) years successful teaching experience in public schools Minimum three (3) years successful administrative experience in public schools Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, instructional leadership, and assessment practices Experience leading district-wide professional development aligned to school improvement goals Experience designing and training coaching programs Proven record of improving student achievement and organizational performance Proven ability to lead diverse teams and promote professional growth Strong communication skills and experience presenting to school boards or large groups Essential Functions:

Provide leadership in the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, English Language Development, Student Services, Prevention and Early Childhood Education. Direct the adoption, design, implementation, and alignment of curriculum, instruction, instructional materials and technology resources across all content areas Lead the district's professional learning initiatives, ensuring they are aligned to strategic priorities and based on best practices. Promote a culture of innovation, educational access, collaboration, and continuous learning across all schools and departments. Support schools in analyzing student achievement data to inform instructional strategies and interventions. Collaborate with school principals to ensure alignment between site-based initiatives and district-wide academic goals. Develop and manage the Teaching and Learning division budget and oversee federal, state, and district instructional grants. Stay current with research-based practices, state and federal education laws, and accreditation requirements, and ensure compliance. Recommend policies, strategies, and instructional practices to improve student achievement and ensure Board policy compliance Serve as a key liaison between the Superintendent and district instructional departments; regularly report on academic progress, initiatives, and program effectiveness Serve as a liaison with external partners, higher education institutions, and community organizations to enhance instructional programs and opportunities. Collaborate with other district leaders to ensure alignment and delivery of services that support school and community needs Interview, recommend, and manage personnel actions within the division, including hiring, promotions, and evaluations Represent the Teaching and Learning division at Board meetings and other public forums Act on behalf of the Superintendent when delegated Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
