A leading global corporate & investment bank is looking to add a Credit Officer to its CIB Risk team, supporting corporate and leveraged lending transactions, including LBO financings. The firm is well-established in structured and sponsor-backed financing, with a broad platform across capital markets and lending.
This role sits within the Credit Risk function and partners closely with the front office to underwrite, approve, and monitor complex credit exposures across corporate and financial sponsor-backed transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit underwriting and risk assessment for corporate lending and leveraged finance (LBOs)
- Analyze financial performance, cash flow, leverage, and key risk drivers
- Approve / recommend transactions and document credit decisions
- Validate internal risk ratings, Basel IV metrics (LGD), and counterparty risk
- Ongoing portfolio monitoring, watchlist management, and early risk detection
- Track credit markets (loan & bond markets) and industry trends
- Contribute to credit policy, risk appetite, and new business initiatives
Profile
- 7+ years of experience in credit risk, leveraged finance, or corporate lending
- Strong exposure to financial sponsors / LBO transactions
- Deep understanding of credit analysis, capital structure, and counterparty risk
- Familiarity with U.S. regulatory environment and market practices
- Ability to manage complex transactions in a fast-paced, front-office-facing environment
