Job Summary
The Finance Director oversees financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, payroll, reporting, investments, debt, and compliance with federal and Minnesota statutes. The role manages utility billing and internal controls, serves as statutory Treasurer, supports reporting, and works with the City Administrator and Clerk on levy and assessments. The position also administers payroll, benefits, and coordinates technology services.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field, five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the private or public finance sector, and government accounting system experience. A master’s degree, experience with BS&A, CPA or CPFO certification, and seven (7) or more years of experience in MN municipal finance are preferred.
