
BU Director of Finance

Korn Ferry has been exclusively retained to lead the search for a Director of Finance on behalf of a publicly traded, global industrial technology company operating across more than 20 countries.
Leading and developing a global finance team across financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, controllership, financial systems, and integration, this leader will focus on building and expanding our finance function, growing revenue and profitability of the business through financial business partnership, including product management, forecasting, profitability and investment analysis, and the streamlining of global processes, infrastructure, and systems.
This is a highly visible, newly created role designed to support a business undergoing significant transformation.
The role will have regular exposure to senior leadership, and will help shape the future structure, processes, and financial discipline of the organization. Given the pace of change, this leader must be comfortable operating in an environment where swim lanes are still being defined and cross‑functional collaboration is critical.
Key Areas of Impact
- Serve as the finance lead for the business unit, partnering closely with leadership on performance and strategy, drive operational finance initiatives, including cost optimization, footprint rationalization, and efficiency improvements across a global manufacturing network.
- Support portfolio optimization efforts, including scaling back lower‑volume product lines and improving overall mix and margins; lead financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, with a strong focus on FP&A and full P&L ownership.
- Partner cross‑functionally with sales, product, engineering, tax, and corporate finance teams to drive growth and profitability.
- Support ongoing transformation initiatives, including ERP rationalization and process standardization following acquisitions.
- Provide data‑driven insights to inform strategic priorities, investment decisions, and long‑term planning.
- Help build and evolve the finance function, including organizational structure, roles, and capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within a global, publicly traded manufacturing or technology environment.
- Strong background in FP&A, operational finance, and business partnering.
- Experience supporting complex, multi‑entity or global business units across regions (NA, Europe, Asia).
- Proven ability to operate in a transformation environment, with experience in process improvement, ERP transformation, or post‑acquisition integration.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence product, pricing, and customer decisions.
- Exposure to M&A or investment analysis is a plus.
- Executive presence with the ability to partner effectively across technical and non‑financial stakeholders, including engineering teams.
Salary Range and Benefits Overview
- $175,000 - $250,000 + 22‑25% Bonus + LTI
