Theme Park Senior Director of Operations – Panhandle FL / New Orleans
Reports to the Vice President.
Compensation: $140,000 – $175,000 per year + up to 30% incentive.
Park Overview: 540 acres, year‑round theme park featuring dry and wet attractions; 25 attractions and 100,000 sq ft water park; 300 team members.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of F&B / Retail to align guest and associate experiences.
- Ensure effective flow of guests and rides from gates to attractions.
- Focus on guest service excellence, teamwork, accident prevention, and safety.
- Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness across the park.
- Manage the preventative maintenance program for rides, attractions, and facilities.
- Develop, prepare, and manage annual operating budgets, including ticketing, game revenues, cabana rentals, operating hours, departmental expenses, supplies, payroll, training, and capital projects.
- Lead managers, supervisors, and team members across Ride Operations, Ride Maintenance, Aquatics, Aquatics Maintenance, Guest Services, and Games.
- Recruit, hire, train, support, coach, and counsel staff.
- Develop and implement park ticket models—season passes, daily tickets, special offers—to achieve profitability and revenue growth, in partnership with Marketing, Sales, and Events.
- Oversee annual budgets, inventory control, monthly forecasting, and related financial activities.
Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience in the attractions, theme park, or water park industry, with at least three years in a senior ride and/or aquatics management role.
- Direct experience operating theme/water park rides and attractions.
- Familiarity and experience with the development and implementation of theme/water park ticketing models.
A Plus
- Experience with Jeff Ellis & Associates and International Ride Training training and operating standards.
- Familiarity with water quality standards; Certified Pool Operator certification.
- Experience with maintenance and capital construction projects.
