Professor of Practice (Open Rank) – School of Professional Studies, Brown University

Responsibilities

  • Strategic and academic direction of the Executive MBA (EMBA) and future Master’s programs.
  • Maintain rigor and integrity of the curriculum.
  • Recruit, hire, and lead faculty.
  • Recruit students with support from recruiting team.
  • Lead admissions committee.
  • Respond to student needs.
  • Maintain relationships with partners at IE University.
  • Build and foster alumni community.
  • Establish new corporate relationships.
  • Develop marketing materials and strategies.
  • Teach in one or more programs.
  • Serve on school and university committees.
  • Contribute to non‑degree and executive education projects.
  • Complete administrative tasks appropriate to faculty members.
  • Pursue professional development and scholarly projects.
  • Engage with students in a patient, proactive, solution‑oriented manner.
  • Coordinate travel for the three annual overseas residential MBA sessions.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Business Administration, Ph.D., MBA, or similar advanced degree in a business‑relevant field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in industry or academia.
  • Teaching experience in mid‑career professional programs is preferred.
  • Administrative experience in an academic setting.
  • Strong grasp of emerging technology’s role in the workplace (desired).
  • Demonstrated ability to support and promote diverse perspectives and inclusive environments.
  • Willingness to work substantial time in office; remote work not available.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for annual overseas residential sessions.
