As Director of Quality Engineering , you will set the enterprise vision for quality, build scalable QE capabilities, and ensure reliable, compliant, high‑quality software delivery across Slide’s core platforms. You’ll partner closely with technology and business leaders to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
What You’ll Do
Strategy, Governance & Standards
- Define and execute the enterprise Quality Engineering (QE) strategy, standards, and governance framework
- Establish enterprise quality metrics, reporting, and dashboards to provide visibility into quality, risk, and release readiness
- Ensure QE practices align with enterprise risk management, regulatory expectations, and operational resilience
Engineering Enablement & Delivery
- Embed modern quality practices across the SDLC, including automation‑first testing and continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines
- Oversee enterprise testing across UI, API, integration, regression, and performance environments
- Provide QE oversight for core platforms including policy, billing, claims, portals, Salesforce, internal applications, and APIs
Leadership, Scale & Continuous Improvement
- Build, lead, and scale a centralized QE organization, defining operating models and capabilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop QE leaders and teams, fostering accountability and engineering excellence
- Drive reductions in production defects through scalable frameworks, tooling, and continuous improvement
- Govern QE vendors, partners, and tooling strategy
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7–9 years of experience in quality engineering or software quality roles within enterprise environments
- 4–6 years of experience leading and scaling Quality Engineering teams
- Experience supporting Property & Casualty insurance or other regulated technology environments
- Strong understanding of modern QE practices, automation‑first testing, and CI/CD integration
- Experience with enterprise, web, API, and distributed/cloud‑based systems
- Familiarity with audit, compliance, and quality documentation standards
- Proven ability to influence cross‑functional leaders and drive enterprise change
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook)
