
VP Global Tax

Summary:
Reporting to the SVP, Global Controller and CAO, the AVP/VP, Global Tax is responsible for the accurate and timely review and filing of federal, state, local, and international tax returns. The AVP/VP, Global Tax is supported by the International Tax Manager and will be responsible for building and scaling ANV’s global tax function. Gathers information, plans strategies, researches tax laws and corresponds with agencies as necessary. Maintains a solid understanding of ANV’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the ANV organization.
Responsibilities: Assists in the preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international tax returns (including VAT and income tax) on a timely basis. Assists in the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual income tax provision for foreign and domestic subsidiaries in accordance with ASC 740. Assists in the preparation of footnote disclosures for quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, UK GAAP, and Statutory Accounting standards Assists in the acquisition of foreign and domestic subsidiaries. Responsible for coordination with foreign subsidiaries to obtain needed accounting and financial information for various tax requirements. Ensures compliance with all tax filing deadlines and international tax requirements (including VAT and income tax). Assists in the preparation and review the filing of extension requests, quarterly estimated payments, and withholdings for the various companies. Reviews corporate legal documents and correspondence as needed to ensure correct preparation of tax returns. Coordinates tax audits and other correspondence. Keep current regarding federal, state and international income tax laws and insurance tax laws, market trends and demands. Manages the ANV international tax manager, provides direction, establishes priorities and goals, and ensures resources are available to accomplish goals. Determines staffing and training needs and conducts performance and salary reviews. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Experience in dealing with insurance taxation preferred but not required Experience with tax preparation software Organized individual with attention to detail Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines Ability to complete thorough workpapers supporting various tax returns Bachelor’s degree in accounting Advanced training indicated by CPA designation or Masters of Tax preferred but not required At least 10 years of tax experience in public accounting or in the insurance industry or an equivalent combination is necessary.
