standardization, integration, and strengthening financial infrastructure .
This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, offering the opportunity to drive meaningful transformation across a complex, multi-entity environment.
Position Overview
The Director of Accounting will serve as a
strategic and hands-on finance leader , responsible for elevating accounting operations, strengthening internal controls, and building scalable processes across a fragmented, high-growth organization. This individual will play a critical role in
stabilizing and standardizing accounting practices , integrating acquired entities, and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a
strategic partner to executive leadership , delivering actionable financial insights Lead all
internal and external financial reporting , including oversight of periodic filings Own the
monthly close process , ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and analytical rigor Drive
standardization of accounting policies and procedures
across multiple entities Establish and enhance
internal controls , addressing legacy gaps and ensuring compliance Lead
external audits
and regulatory engagements Oversee core accounting functions including: General ledger Accounts payable and receivable Billing and payroll Fixed assets and cash forecasting Support
M&A activity , including integration, opening balance sheets, and purchase accounting Partner cross-functionally to improve
financial visibility and operational efficiency Lead and develop a team of approximately
20+ accounting professionals Drive
ERP and systems integration efforts
across the organization Identify and implement
process improvements
to enhance scalability and efficiency
Key Business Priorities
Standardize accounting and payroll processes across acquired entities Strengthen
inventory controls
and resolve historical inconsistencies Integrate
disparate systems and reporting structures Correct
legacy accounting practices
lacking proper documentation or rationale Build a
scalable, disciplined close and reporting environment
Required Qualifications
Active CPA (required)
with sign-off responsibility on filings Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s preferred) 6+ years at the Controller level or higher
with demonstrated tenure and stability 6+ years of leadership experience , managing large, multi-layered teams Background in
public accounting (Manager level or above) Experience within a
private equity–backed environment , including M&A integration Proven experience in
multi-location, highly transactional organizations
($350MM+ revenue) Strong expertise in: Internal controls and process improvement Job costing and inventory accounting ERP implementations and systems integration

within services, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries Demonstrated success in: Rebuilding and standardizing accounting functions Leading post-acquisition integrations Improving controls and reporting accuracy Operating effectively in
