Position Overview
The Executive Director (ED) provides leadership to guide zWORKS through a critical transition period. This role focuses on stabilizing operations, addressing the organization’s financial deficit, rebuilding community engagement, and planning the entrepreneurial hub relaunch. The ED will partner closely with the Board of Directors to maintain day-to-day operations, execute immediate fundraising priorities, and support the Board’s strategic decision-making regarding zWORKS’ long-term sustainability.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Organizational Leadership- Maintain smooth, in-person daily operations at zWORKS’ Main Street and Pine Street locations.
- Manage facility access, member experience, and program continuity.
- Oversee communications with members, partners, and sponsors to sustain confidence and engagement during the transition.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Board on operations, finances, and fundraising efforts.
- Implement cost-containment strategies to reduce the current monthly deficit.
- Collaborate with the Finance Committee to monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial reporting.
- Lead an annual revenue increase of $100,000 by growing memberships, sponsorships, event fees, office rentals, and other sources of revenue.
- Track quarterly financial benchmarks for revenue growth, sponsorships, and membership increases.
- Cultivate relationships with corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors.
- Promote sponsorship and naming opportunities tied to the Main Street renovation and hub relaunch.
- Reconnect with founding sponsors, alumni entrepreneurs, and community partners.
- Coordinate board and volunteer efforts for sponsorship outreach and stewardship.
- Develop and execute a short-term plan to increase membership retention and recruitment.
- Rebuild awareness of zWORKS’ entrepreneurial mission and value proposition.
- Facilitate programs, workshops, and networking opportunities that attract entrepreneurs and small business owners.
- Collaborate with the Board Chair and committees to implement the Board’s strategic direction.
- Provide operational data and insights to inform the Board’s decision about zWORKS’ long-term future.
- Support transparent communication between the Board, members, and community stakeholders.
- Assist with preparation of reports and materials for board and committee meetings.
Immediate Priorities
- Lead the deficit reduction and sponsorship campaign ($100,000 goal).
- Plan and execute the relaunch of the zWORKS entrepreneurial hub, including sponsor and community engagement.
- Stabilize operations while supporting the Board’s evaluation of long-term sustainability options.
