Role Overview As a Field Merchandiser, you'll work independently to showcase your organization and time management skills, establish retailer relationships, and be the face of Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory levels, support fellow team members with seasonal resets and installations when needed, and occasionally work with other products from other companies in the stores you service.
Salary and Schedule Details
Your starting hourly pay rate will be $16.30 to $18.30 depending on your skills and experience.
Paid training is provided through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom sessions.
Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, etc.
Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
This is a Part‑Time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
Average weekly hours are between 10–15 hours per week.
Availability the week before and after major holidays, which may include weekends, is required.
Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
Your Role and Responsibilities You’ll perform service work in the Hallmark department of various retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The position has three major components:
Day‑to‑day engagement:
Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you will restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the department. The technology is critical for daily work, communication with your supervisor, reporting time, providing feedback, and answering required surveys. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is essential. You are responsible for the entire Hallmark product display at your assigned stores.
Holiday support:
During lead‑up and post‑holiday periods (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas), you may work additional days and extended hours, and may be required to work on the actual holiday.
Department resets:
You may join a team responsible for installations and tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. You will be notified two weeks in advance for remodel assignments, which could include evenings or weekends.
Team support:
As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you collaborate with other merchandisers and support teammates as needed in their territories.
Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding job requiring high energy and urgency. Work on the selling floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds daily and up to 50 pounds occasionally. You must kneel, squat, walk, stand, and climb stairs and step ladders throughout the day.
Basic Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.
Can read, write, and understand English.
Able to grasp, pull, lift and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Can operate a digital handheld device to open and read documents and interpret information.
Has Wi‑Fi network access and internet access.
Has reliable transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
