The

Director of Payroll and HR Technology

at

Brightview Senior Living

plays a critical role in providing strategic leadership and oversight of payroll and HRIS operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing and reconciliation of payroll while driving continuous HR Technology enhancements through automation and process optimization in UKG Pro.

In this position, the

Director of Payroll and HR Technology

works to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including filings and audits, while partnering closely with Finance to maintain strong controls, resolve discrepancies and improve operational challenges.

Serves as a thought partner, working closely with talent acquisition, associate benefits, leave, compensation and associate relations to ensure end to end support for communities and a positive associate experience throughout the lifecycle.

Oversees the timely and accurate processing, funding, and reconciliation of weekly and bi-weekly payroll; partners closely with FSG to resolve downstream issues as appropriate.

Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations by leveraging deep expertise in payroll tax services, including tax filings, reconciliations, audits, and issue resolution across multiple jurisdictions.

Collaborates with the Finance Services Group and auditors to manage payroll audit, researching and resolving issues that may arise.

Serves as liaison with a variety of technology partners to ensure efficient operation and seamless interfaces and integrations between systems.

Researches and resolves complex issues and inquiries from associates, management, third party service providers and others.

Manages relationships with unemployment, pre-employment screening, onboarding and payroll vendors ensuring organizational needs are effectively met.

Serves as a partner to the benefits team for open enrollment, new benefit introductions, technology enhancements, and other related initiatives.

Leads the background review process and makes determinations on eligibility for hire following the pre-adverse action process.

Continuously monitors processes and procedures; recommends and implements improvements to create positive associate experiences and to ensure efficiency, proper internal controls, and compliance with applicable policies and regulations.

Stays abreast of new developments and technology; researches and makes recommendations to upgrade and/or automate processes; manages implementation of such projects and changes.

Maintains knowledge of requirements and government regulations affecting human resources in all states of operation and ensures policies, procedures, documentation, and reporting are in compliance.

Supports Business Intelligence needs by seamlessly providing actionable workforce data.

Analyzes HR Helpdesk metrics and provides recommendations for training or additional resources to help improve user performance.

Collects and analyzes data and prepares reports for senior management, third party providers and regulating bodies. Makes recommendations as appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities Manages payroll and HRIS staff and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Brightview policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Salary Range USD $140,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.

Compensation Disclosure The salary range mentioned above reflects the potential pay for this role and does not include bonuses or additional incentives (if applicable), nor does it include the value of our benefit program. Offers will consider factors like experience, qualifications, location, community size (if relevant), certifications/training, etc. Brightview regularly reviews and adjusts compensation ranges.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and seven years of progressively responsible experience in payroll administration and HRIS systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of four years supervisory experience, in a human resources environment.

Advanced knowledge of human resources laws and regulations.

Systems management skills in UKG Pro, Payroll and Workforce Management required.

Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a demonstrated ability to quickly master new applications.

Deep expertise in payroll tax services, including tax filings, reconciliations, audits, and issue resolution across multiple jurisdictions.

Exceptional detail orientation and organizational skills.

Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writing.

Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to comfortably interact with associates at all levels of the organization and a wide variety of business partners.

Ability to apply reason, logic, and advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.

Ability to function as a team leader as well as work as a contributor in a team environment.

Professional Human Resources Certification preferred.
