
Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst

Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) is seeking a Senior Sales & Use Tax Analyst to join the Finance organization at our headquarters location in The Woodlands, TX.
Responsibilities
Preparation and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local sales/use tax returns along with subsequent reconciliation to SAP general ledger in Blackline
Management of customer exemption certificates for sales/use taxes
Direct contact, both verbal and written, with state and local taxing authorities regarding reporting requirements, tax return amendments, and tax assessments
Direct customer contact (both external and internal) on an ongoing basis regarding tax advice and CPChem products subject to sales/use tax in the various jurisdictions that the company does business
Monitor and research impact of pending tax law changes
Provide training throughout the company to ensure compliance with sales/use tax laws and regulations
Assist and support the Sales and Use Tax Manager on audits and special projects
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
At least 7 years of experience in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm
Preferred Qualifications
Motor fuels tax or Superfund tax experience
CPA, CMI or other professional designations
Experience with SAP, Vertex, and strong spreadsheet skills
Knowledge of Alteryx and Power BI
