Accounting Operations Manager
Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in the Indianapolis area)
Salary: $150,000 – $200,000+ (flexible for top candidates)
Bonus: Negotiable
Schedule: Remote with occasional in-person meetings a few times per year
About the Opportunity
A growing investment-focused organization is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to oversee and build out its accounting infrastructure. This is a highly visible, hands-on role supporting a multi-entity / family office-style environment with a focus on process improvement, financial oversight, and operational excellence.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the accounting function, working on complex financial structures, and implementing scalable processes in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial recordkeeping and reporting across multiple entities
- Manage tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors
- Support investment reporting, leveraging data from third-party investment advisors
- Monitor private investment activity and maintain related schedules
- Handle cash management and bill pay functions
- Design and implement internal controls, approval workflows, and segregation of duties
- Continuously improve processes and build scalable accounting infrastructure
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Experience in a multi-entity, small business, or family office environment
- Proven experience implementing internal controls and process improvements
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or MBA
- Experience with well-known or large organizations (strongly valued)
