Overview
Chechessee Creek Club is seeking enthusiastic and service-oriented Seasonal Assistant Golf Professionals to join our golf operations team for the upcoming season (September 1 - May 1). This position supports daily golf operations across both the 18-hole Coore & Crenshaw main course and the new short course, providing members and guests with an exceptional and personalized experience at every touchpoint. Seasonal Assistant Golf Professionals report to the Head Golf Professionals of their assigned course and work within a collaborative, high-performing team that includes the Lead Assistant Golf Professional and Merchandise Manager.
Experience Required
Genuine passion for golf and commitment to delivering an outstanding member and guest experience.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to engage professionally with members, guests, and staff across all settings.
Basic proficiency in golf management software (tee sheet systems, GHIN, POS) preferred; training provided.
Knowledge of USGA Rules of Golf and handicap procedures.
Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with the standards of a premier private club.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays throughout the season.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to take initiative in a fast-paced golf operations environment.
Essential Responsibilities Golf Operations
Provide warm, attentive, and personalized service to members and guests at all times; serve as an ambassador of the Club's standards of hospitality.
Assist with daily opening and closing procedures for the Golf Shop.
Support all daily administrative functions: player check-in, fee collection, starting time management, and pace-of-play oversight.
Manage tee sheet activity and communicate course conditions, pace-of-play expectations, and relevant scheduling information to members and guests.
Maintain a clean, organized Golf Shop, office, and stockroom in accordance with Club standards.
Operate across both the main course and short course as scheduled, adapting to the unique pace and character of each venue.
Tournament & Event Support
Assist in the preparation, coordination, and execution of member tournaments, competitions, and golf events on both courses.
Support the management of tournament tee sheets and maintain accurate records for all groups and events.
Assist with golfer registration, scoring, handicap posting, and results communications.
Help communicate tournament details, course closures, and event schedules to members and guests in a timely manner.
Support the Head Golf Professionals and Lead Assistant in promoting Club events and member programming.
Merchandise & Golf Shop Assistance
Assist the Merchandise Manager and Lead Assistant Golf Professional with golf shop operations, including merchandise display, inventory organization, and sales assistance.
Help receive, tag, and display new merchandise as directed.
Represent the Club's brand and merchandise offerings with professionalism and product knowledge.
