Virginia University of Lynchburg is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Financial Aid Counselor to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities
- Advise students and families on financial aid options, including FAFSA, loans, grants, and scholarships.
- Process and review student aid applications in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
- Maintain accurate student records and collaborate with admissions and registrar staff.
- Provide guidance to students on financial literacy and loan repayment.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with institutional systems for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (formulas, sorting, filtering).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in Lynchburg, VA.
- Starting salary typically ranges from $20,000–$30,000 for candidates without a degree.
- Candidates with Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degrees may qualify for higher pay based on education level.
