Multiskilled Repairman
The Multiskilled Repairman is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on various equipment and machinery within the CROWN Cork & Seal USA, Inc. facility, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and minimizing downtime. Job Responsibilities Execute scheduled preventative maintenance on production machinery, facility infrastructure, and utility systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on a diverse range of manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to presses, ovens, conveyors, and packaging lines. Perform repairs, adjustments, and replacements of defective parts, components, and systems using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Conduct basic welding, fabrication, and machining tasks as needed to support repair and maintenance activities. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to facilitate accurate diagnosis and repair. Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout protocols during all maintenance and repair operations. Document all maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and time spent, in the designated maintenance management system. Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery. Collaborate effectively with production personnel, engineers, and other maintenance team members to resolve operational issues and improve equipment reliability. Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Job Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance or repair role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following technical areas: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment malfunctions. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints. Basic welding and fabrication skills are a strong plus. Proficiency in using various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Familiarity with preventative maintenance principles and practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions. Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
