Managing Producer, Content Lab (Creative and Innovative Content)
We are seeking a Managing Producer to join our Content Lab team as we look to grow our creative and innovative sports content. The Content Lab team focuses on entertainment, innovation, and experimental productions, including our work in GenAI. In this role, you will ideate and manage the creation of traditional creative content productions and innovative content using emerging technologies. You will collaborate with various departments across ESPN Content and the Walt Disney Television Digital Content (TWDC) and partner with the Content Lab production teams to deliver end-to-end traditional and new media experiences aimed at exciting and entertaining sports fans. The Managing Producer will play a crucial role in developing and executing projects that blend creative and technology, requiring a deep understanding of creative production, project management, and emerging technologies.
Essential Responsibilities
AI Trends, Analysis, Use and Education:
Help drive AI use in our creative content space. Stay informed on the latest technological trends, media/GenAI industry developments, and commit to continued learning and teaching in AI.
Lead Creative & Innovative Production Projects:
Oversee the end-to-end execution of creative content projects, collaborate with leading partners to ensure high‑quality, on‑brand and unique productions, and take a hands‑on role in content creation.
Concept Development:
Create compelling visual pitch concepts for new franchises and presentations.
Vision Communication:
Articulate creative visions to teams and stakeholders.
Production Management:
Oversee the production and project management from pitch to delivery, and suggest best‑use strategy for creative projects.
Relationship Management:
Foster and maintain strong relationships across multiple internal departments, external production vendors, and technology teams, and help create a collaborative environment within the Content Lab team.
Asset Creation and Direction:
Guide the development of creative assets and support the production team across simultaneous projects.
Resource Acquisition:
Secure necessary assets and approvals from stakeholders to ensure the success of tech‑driven and creative productions.
Schedule and Budget Management:
Work with the Production Coordinator and Content Lab team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Qualifications
Professional Experience:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in creative and innovative content.
Passion and Experience in Emerging Technologies:
Strong technical curiosity, active follower of AI research, AI language fluency, and full understanding of GenAI production workflows. Experience creating content using traditional workflows and emerging technologies and tools such as AI, AR, and XR.
Technical Expertise:
Extensive experience with tools used for high‑end content—full Adobe suite fluency and media workflow fluency including cloud‑based formats.
Pitch Big Ideas:
Strong communication skills and the ability to sell new ideas and projects.
Storytelling Mastery:
Exceptional storytelling abilities with the ability to create engaging narratives and experiences.
Project Management Skills:
Strong expertise in project and production management, including collaboration and presentation skills.
Personnel Management Skills:
Ability to manage and mentor junior producers and teams with clear direction and useful feedback.

Eligibility Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications or an adjacent field.
Location: Bristol, CT.
Compensation: Hiring range for this position in Bristol, CT is $115,500 to $154,800 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
