Automation Sales Manager

Job Summary This position is responsible for leading a team of Account Managers in developing sales, profits, and relationships with end user commercial clients and the contracting and engineering community. This position will be working with MESA Account Managers, Sales Directors and Operations Teams to fully realize the sales potential in HVAC and Building Automation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop and execute a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures the attainment of company sales goals and profitability.

Ensure that Account Managers meet or exceed activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes.

Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Managers.

Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.

Set examples for Account Managers in personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.

Mentor and coach the team to build motivation and selling skills.

Maintain contact with key clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

Initiate and coordinate the development of an action plan to penetrate new markets.

Conduct one-on-one reviews with Account Managers to build better communication, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for improving sales and activity performance.

Prepare sales forecast and activity reports for management.

Provide and maintain accurate records of pricing, sales, activity reports, and proposals submitted by Account Managers.

Create and conduct proposal presentations, RFP responses, and monthly sales meetings.

Control expenses to meet budget guidelines.

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Prepare and conduct annual professional sales development training and prepare coaching and action plans.

Identify new business opportunities within the automation industry to further develop and grow the business.

Coach and mentor the team to develop new business with MESA clients, while also identifying new business opportunities with various contractors for new plan and specification pursuits.

Develop and maintain key relationships within the engineering community for plan and specification work.

Apply the principles of financial selling and conceptually understand energy efficiency to help build compelling value for our clients.

Develop relationships with other business partners to help grow deals for sellers.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience required, B.A. / B.S. desired.

7+ years of sales experience required within the HVAC/Automation field.

Prior sales leadership/management experience desired.

Good time management, communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent PC skills (Excel, Word, Dynamics, PowerPoint).

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

High collaboration, problem solving and action orientation are attributes required for this position.

Geographic Disclosure Compensation Range:

$150,000 - $175,000 per year
