
IT Portfolio Manager

Overview
The IT Portfolio Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the Health, Informatics, Technology, and Security (HITS) project and demand portfolio under the direction of the HITS Project Management Director. This position is responsible for establishing and maturing portfolio and project management practices, ensuring alignment with CMH’s strategic goals, and driving a culture of disciplined execution, transparency, and continuous improvement across the technology organization.
This role will require a strong healthcare background.

Responsibilities
Ensure transparent, strategic, and effective management of all HITS project portfolio initiatives.
Establish consistent, scalable project management practices across the organization. Coordinate both demand and project management processes, tools, and templates to manage the portfolio and development of each individual project.
Enable strategic alignment, prioritization, and oversight of technology investments and oversee the HITS governance process.
Qualifications
Master's Degree preferred and 1-2 years' experience in the supported area or related fields.
Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years' experience in the supported area or related fields.
High School diploma, or equivalent, and 9+ years of relevant and related experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Remote Work/Work from Home This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on‑site hours at a Children’s Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
