
Business Development Manager - Microsoft Channel (Commercial)

Position Summary
Huron’s Data Management and Analytics team is seeking a Business Development professional to drive growth through the Microsoft ecosystem within the Manufacturing industry. This role is responsible for generating and closing professional services revenue aligned to Microsoft Applications, Data, and AI solutions.
The role will lead pipeline generation efforts in collaboration with Microsoft field sellers, develop and close complex services engagements, and position Huron as a preferred Microsoft partner for manufacturing digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings experience selling professional services within the Microsoft ecosystem and understands how to leverage co-sell motions, partner programs, and industry‑focused solutioning to accelerate growth.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Pipeline Development
Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
Identify, qualify, and advance new opportunities within the commercial sector.
Data platform transformation (Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Azure Data Services).
AI enablement (Azure OpenAI, Copilot, ML solutions).
ERP and CRM modernization (Dynamics 365).
Cloud migration and Azure modernization.
Related Azure ecosystem partners such as Snowflake and Databricks.
Conduct joint account planning sessions with Microsoft Account Executives, Industry Sellers, and Partner Development Managers.
Register and manage co‑sell opportunities within Microsoft Partner Center.
Sales Execution & Deal Leadership
Lead proposal development, pricing strategy, and contract negotiations for professional services engagements.
Collaborate with Huron solution architects and delivery leaders to scope and position.
Microsoft Applications implementations.
Data & AI transformation initiatives.
Advisory Services.
Present executive‑ready solutions to CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, COOs, and VP‑level manufacturing leaders.
Ensure alignment with Microsoft co‑sell processes and program requirements to maximize engagement and visibility.
Microsoft Channel Engagement
Develop trusted relationships with Microsoft: Account Executives, Industry sellers, Partner Development Managers, Solution Specialists (Applications, Data, AI).
Participate in Microsoft joint business planning sessions and QBRs.
Position Huron as a strategic Microsoft services partner within targeted commercial accounts.
Collaborate with alliance leadership to align opportunities with Microsoft program priorities.
Industry‑Focused Go‑To‑Market Leadership
Target mid‑market and enterprise organizations undergoing digital transformation.
Focus on business outcomes such as supply chain optimization, operational efficiency, predictive analytics, and AI‑driven productivity.
Partner with Huron marketing to support Microsoft‑aligned webinars, industry roundtables, and campaigns.
Leverage case studies and industry credentials to accelerate proposal velocity and conversion rates.
Performance Management & Reporting
Provide accurate weekly pipeline reporting and revenue forecasts.
Maintain proposal velocity of 2–3 submissions per month.
Target a proposal‑to‑close conversion rate of 30–35%+.
Ensure consistent engagement cadence with Microsoft sellers (2–3 touchpoints per week).
Qualifications
Required
5+ years of professional services business development or consultative sales experience.
Demonstrated experience working within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Experience selling Microsoft‑related services (Azure, Dynamics 365, Data & AI, or Power Platform).
Proven ability to build pipeline through partner channel collaboration.
Executive presence and strong communication skills.
Preferred
Background in cloud modernization, ERP transformation, or AI initiatives.
Familiarity with Microsoft co‑sell programs and Partner Center processes.
Experience in a consulting or professional services environment.
Flexible living locations across US; role will require travel as needed.
The estimated base salary range for this job is $110,000 - $168,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
