A leading multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a Director of Engineering to support a diverse portfolio of projects across commercial, residential, and institutional sectors. This role involves both new design and structural rehabilitation , with opportunities to contribute to complex and technically challenging work.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for new and existing buildings
- Perform calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems
- Develop construction documents, drawings, and specifications
- Conduct site inspections, condition assessments, and field investigations
- Support structural rehabilitation and restoration projects
- Collaborate with architects, consultants, and internal teams
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or working toward licensure
- 6+ years of relevant structural engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of US building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, etc.)
- Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, RISA)
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience with structural rehabilitation or adaptive reuse
- Forensic investigation or condition assessment experience (a plus)
- Experience working on mid- to high-rise structures
