Overview
Publicis Sports, the sports marketing division within Publicis Groupe and Publicis Media, is searching for a Director of Measurement and Analytics to join its team based in New York, NY or Chicago. This team member will report directly to the VP, Product Strategy. The position will focus on analytical and research projects for brand clients and rights holders, with an emphasis on partnership analytics solutions (research, valuation, measurement, and evaluation) as well as advisory solutions (go‑to‑market strategy and ideation). The role will also work with the Publicis Sports consulting and sales team to identify opportunities to integrate Publicis Sports solutions into new and existing clients and create thought leadership documents for internal and external use.
This position requires a self‑motivated individual who can meet deadlines, is diligent, data‑focused, and works well in a team‑based environment with internal and external partners. The successful candidate will take ownership of client projects, deliver high‑quality work, and act as a trusted advisor. They will also lead a small team to support major client projects and serve as a role model for the division.
Key responsibilities include strong project management, excellence in presentation building and delivery, and an in‑depth understanding of sponsorship, analytics, and marketing in the sports and entertainment industry.
Responsibilities
- Use deep relationships and knowledge across agencies, vendors, brands, rights holders, and consumers to create strategies that drive brand value and business results.
- Make informed recommendations to clients based on objectives, market trends, sponsorship measurement, value drivers, and opportunities.
- Combine Publicis Sports’ Sponsorship Intelligence expertise with additional research tools to inform partnership strategy, evaluation, and audience growth associated with ROI & ROO.
- Provide partners with dynamic measurement and reporting across key metrics, demonstrating performance across a variety of data types and sources.
- Help implement the data analytics vision for business decision‑making through unique designs for clients and support product strategy.
- Lead the day‑to‑day management of selected clients, working directly with client teams to deliver deliverables, analyze data, and provide strategic recommendations.
- Lead a small team to ensure projects are produced according to SOW, on time, and aligned with client expectations and budgets.
- Monitor trends in sports, entertainment, and technology to keep the team and executives updated and identify new opportunities.
- Utilize machine learning and predictive analytics to analyze multidimensional fan data, including purchasing behavior and sponsorship data, to forecast sponsorship probability and identify high‑value partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate with the VP of Product, Sales VPs, and Consulting VP team members to develop key presentations and SOWs.
- Lead proposals to clients in both written and face‑to‑face formats.
- Participate in business development presentations and pitches with the sales team and President of Publicis Sports.
- Structure recurring communications for senior business leaders with Publicis Sports and the VP of Product, effectively relaying project status and roadmap progress.
- Contribute to a positive team culture that fosters high performance, efficient processes, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years leading a measurement/research and/or analytics team in sports and/or entertainment.
- 5+ years working with data vendors such as Nielsen, Hive, Zoomph, and others.
- 6+ years of business strategy, consulting, or agency experience (preferably in sports/entertainment).
- 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker).
- 2+ years’ experience with SQL, R, and/or another statistical programming language.
- 1+ year’s experience with automated AI workflows that streamline dataset processing while improving data delivery and project management efficiency.
- Professional communication skills in both written and verbal contexts with external end‑users and internal colleagues.
- Attention to detail, aptitude for meeting deadlines, and ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
- Intellectual curiosity and propensity to learn new subjects quickly.
- Strong relationship development and negotiation skills, earning respect and trust among internal and external partners and team members.
- Proven experience in collaborating across teams and lines of business within large organizations, including influencing partners and working with diverse teams.
- Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly.
- Ability to lead a team in a comprehensive and organizational manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills.
- Ability to travel once a month for client presentations.
- Must have deep knowledge of sponsorship, data, and the sports industry.

Compensation Range: $129,485–$207,324 annually. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan and 401(k) plan upon meeting eligibility criteria. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
