Overview: A leading academic medical environment is seeking a Director of Finance to serve as the senior financial leader supporting Neurology and Neurosurgery within a newly established Neurosciences Institute. This is a highly visible opportunity to build and integrate financial infrastructure across multiple entities, partnering directly with executive leadership and physician stakeholders.

$125,000 – $235,000
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary financial advisor to executive leadership and department heads
- Lead financial integration efforts across historically separate departments
- Develop long-term financial models, forecasts, and business case analyses for strategic initiatives and physician recruitment
- Oversee annual operating and capital budgeting across hospital and physician entities
- Manage full-scope accounting operations, including P&L, cash flow, internal controls, and audit readiness
- Administer complex funding sources such as endowments, faculty compensation structures, and departmental funds
- Partner with revenue cycle operations to optimize billing, coding, and collections
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives (including ERP and financial planning tools)
- Monitor financial and operational performance, identifying cost‑saving opportunities and efficiencies
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of finance, accounting, or operations experience within an Academic Medical Center (AMC)
- CPA or master’s degree (Finance, Business, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field)
- Proven leadership experience in complex, matrixed organizations
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and healthcare revenue cycle
- Ability to synthesize complex financial data into executive-level insights
- Experience leading clinical or business integrations across departments
- Hands‑on experience with financial systems such as Workday and Strata
- Background in physician compensation models, clinical endowments, and faculty financial planning
