Position Overview
Title:
Human Resources Specialist
Location:
Radford City - Main Campus
Hours:
40 per week (12 months)
Responsibilities
Assist with compliance reviews and audits
Reconcile HR and system data
Support HRIS testing and upgrades
Track employee performance deadlines
Maintain HR documentation and respond to internal inquiries
Support process improvements under HR leadership
Required Qualifications
Two years of experience in human resources, compliance, or similar work experience
Experience with data entry, reporting, or recordkeeping ideally in HR
Strong analytical skills with experience performing reconciliations
Knowledge of HR-related laws, regulations, and compliance standards
Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., Banner, Cardinal) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a higher education or public sector setting
Knowledge of state-specific HR systems and processes (e.g., DHRM, CIPPS)
Experience supporting or conducting system testing for HR/payroll systems
Understanding of adjunct, overload, and faculty compensation practices
Benefits Telework eligible up to one day per week after training period.
