Electronic Security Foreman / Lead
is responsible for
leading and executing new electronic security system installations
within
mission‑critical data center environments . This role combines
hands‑on technical expertise
with
field leadership , ensuring electronic security systems are installed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
The Foreman will oversee field crews installing
access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and structured low‑voltage cabling systems
on large‑scale data center construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Field Leadership & Crew Management
Lead and supervise daily activities of electronic security technicians on‑site
Assign tasks, track productivity, and ensure work aligns with project schedules
Coordinate manpower, tools, and materials needed for successful installations
Enforce company safety policies and jobsite rules in mission‑critical environments
Electronic Security System Installation
Oversee and perform new installations of:
Access control systems (card readers, panels, door hardware)
Pull, route, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling per ANSI/TIA standards
Install cable tray, conduit, and support infrastructure in data centers
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality checks prior to turnover
Project Coordination & Communication
Interpret blueprints, security drawings, and scopes of work
Coordinate daily activities with the General Contractor, Project Manager, and other trades
Attend foreman meetings and provide progress updates
Identify field issues early and elevate risks or delays as needed
Quality, Safety & Documentation
Ensure installations meet
design specs, codes, and data center standards
Verify labeling, testing, and documentation are completed accurately
Maintain clean, organized work areas in active data center environments
Support inspections, punch lists, and final system turnover
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of electronic security or low‑voltage installation experience
1–3+ years in a
lead or foreman capacity
Strong knowledge of:
Access control systems
Copper and fiber cabling
Ability to read and interpret construction and security drawings
Experience working on
data center or large‑scale commercial construction projects
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Experience working in active or phased data center builds
Familiarity with GC‑led coordination and commissioning environments
