VP, Growth Marketing (Hands-On Builder)
BrainWorks, Florida, NY, United States
Location: West Palm Beach / South Florida (Onsite – 5 days/week)**
Type: Full-time
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a VP, Growth Marketing to lead and execute go-to-market efforts for an early-stage, AI-driven consumer platform. This is a hands‑on, build‑from‑zero role — not a traditional leadership position with an existing team or infrastructure. You will operate as the sole marketing owner initially , responsible for driving user acquisition, building the funnel, and creating early traction.
You will work directly with the founders to define strategy, but will be expected to lead execution, make decisions, and drive results independently . This role is heavily focused on performance‑driven, direct‑to‑consumer (DTC) growth , with full ownership over measurable outcomes across acquisition, conversion, and engagement.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Own and execute the end‑to‑end DTC growth strategy (acquisition → activation → retention)
Build and optimize the full marketing funnel from scratch
Personally launch and manage paid acquisition channels (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.)
Drive performance marketing outcomes — CAC, LTV, ROAS, and conversion rates
Define target audiences, positioning, and channel strategy based on data
Translate performance insights into clear actions and growth decisions
Run continuous A/B testing and rapid experimentation across channels and funnels
Identify highest‑performing channels and scale them aggressively
Drive early traction through:
Paid media
Partnerships
Build initial systems, reporting, and tracking infrastructure
Work with agencies as needed, but personally own performance and results
Partner closely with product to align growth with user experience and engagement
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (FIRST 90 DAYS)
Measurable growth in traffic, signups, and user engagement
Clear identification of target audience and top‑performing channels
Multiple acquisition channels tested with actionable performance data
Defined funnel with early conversion benchmarks
Initial traction and a clear path to scale
WHO YOU ARE
A hands‑on builder who has driven growth in a 0→1 or early‑stage environment
Comfortable operating as the sole marketing owner without structure or support
Able to balance strategy and execution — you don’t wait, you act
Strong in performance marketing and analytics , not just brand or content
Able to make decisions and move forward without constant approvals
Focused on outcomes: users, conversion, and growth
Comfortable working in ambiguity while driving forward momentum
Thinks like an owner , taking accountability for results — not just activity
REQUIREMENTS
6–10+ years of experience in growth, performance, or demand generation marketing
Proven ownership of:
Customer acquisition through paid channels (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.)
Funnel performance and conversion optimization
CAC, LTV, ROAS, and channel efficiency
Hands‑on experience launching, optimizing, and scaling campaigns
Strong experience in performance marketing and direct‑to‑consumer (DTC) growth
Experience in consumer, subscription, or app‑based products strongly preferred
Demonstrated success in early‑stage or lean environments
Ability to both develop strategy and execute independently
IDEAL BACKGROUND (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
Experience leading marketing in a startup or early‑stage company
Experience building or running your own venture or business
Proven ability to operate with full ownership in unstructured environments
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
Not a brand, content, or social media management role
Not an agency management or coordination role
Not a purely strategic leadership role without execution
Not a large‑team leadership role (initially — team will be built over time)
