
VP Agricultural Lender

We’re partnering with a community-focused financial institution seeking an
Agricultural Lender
to support and grow relationships across the Lafayette market and surrounding rural communities.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the ag space, enjoys being out in the field with clients, and wants to build a meaningful portfolio while making an impact in local farming communities.
What You’ll Do
Develop new business relationships with farmers, producers, and agribusiness clients
Manage and grow an existing loan portfolio (typically $15MM–$25MM)
Structure and underwrite agricultural credits within lending authority
Partner with credit teams on larger or more complex transactions
Maintain strong client relationships through regular outreach and on-site visits
Identify cross-sell opportunities (cash management, treasury, and other services)
Monitor portfolio performance, including profitability and risk exposure
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
What They’re Looking For
Experience in commercial or agricultural lending, credit analysis, or underwriting (3+ years preferred)
Strong relationship-building skills and a genuine interest in the agricultural community
Solid financial analysis and credit evaluation capabilitiesEffective communication skills—both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable spending time in the field and traveling throughout rural markets
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Ag Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
