Job Overview
Position:
Auto Body Technician
As an Auto Body Technician at Gerber Collision & Glass, you will provide an exceptional customer experience by meticulously assessing and repairing each vehicle to restore it to pre‑accident condition.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
Repair dents, dimples, and other minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when necessary.
Realign car chassis and frames to correct structural damage.
Remove damaged sections and replace with new or aftermarket parts; repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
Repair or replace interior parts as required.
Weld and fit parts, then prep and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or agreed equivalents.
Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines and verify completion through vehicle inspections.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
Proficiency in using trade‑specific tools.
Other Requirements
Work safely in a noisy environment with strong odors.
Lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Visually inspect vehicle damage under various weather conditions.
Perform bending, stretching, kneeling, and squatting to execute repairs and inspections.

Compensation $20 – 28 per hour, flat rate (negotiable based on experience)
Flat rate compensation is performance‑based and tied to worked hours. If total compensation in a pay period is less than the applicable minimum wage, guaranteed local or state minimum wage will be applied.
Compensation is commensurate with skill, education, and experience.
