
Resident Service Specialist

Brief Overview
Resident Services Specialist has the primary responsibility of providing assistance and coordinating all requests from the residents with the property management team. In addition, this position is responsible for the overall appearance of the community, assisting in marketing functions, and providing exceptional customer service to all residents. Responsibilities include maintaining resident files, resident retention programs, receiving and following up with service requests, meeting with resident groups, and assisting the Community Director and Community Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and government compliance requirements.
What You Will Do
Serve as the primary point of contact for all resident‑related inquiries.
Coordinate and assist with all requests from residents with the property management team by entering work orders into YARDI.
Answer resident questions and assist with resolving concerns while providing the highest level of customer service through courteous, professional, and prompt responses to all inquiries.
Follow up on all interactions with residents and ensure all items are addressed and resolved.
Assist in inspecting model and vacant homes to ensure they are ready for touring prospective clients as needed.
Administer move‑in lease documents and conduct a home inspection with residents.
Coordinate move‑outs, pre‑inspection, and final inspection for outgoing residents, including assessing any charges for damages and delivering the final utility bill where applicable.
Monitor rental account balances and ensure all fees and rent charges are correct in Yardi.
Help maintain community curb appeal and the appearance of the office, amenities, model homes, and community.
Conduct follow‑up phone calls to residents to ensure work orders are completed to their satisfaction within an acceptable timeframe.
Perform other duties as needed to assist the Community Director, Community Manager, and/or leasing team.
Participate in monthly functions held by the site to assist in resident retention.
Drive for the company, using either a company vehicle or a personal/rental vehicle for more than 50 percent of duties.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Property Management, or related discipline preferred.
Experience with computers and typical office software (Email, Word, Excel, internet browsers) required.
Previous sales experience preferred.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work in all weather conditions when showing houses.
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and discretion with confidential information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities with tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
High degree of professionalism, strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and integrity.
Ability to resolve problems independently and responsibly.
Reliable, self‑motivated team player who pays close attention to detail and demonstrates strong communication and business literacy.
Discretion and ability to maintain a professional appearance.
Ability to envision, develop, and implement strategies to address competitive business issues.
Initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
Valid driver’s license required.
