Assessment Specialist - RN

Fulltime (0.9 FTE)
Schedule:
12‑hour shifts, mid‑shift 11:00 am‑11:30 pm, every other weekend, holiday rotation
Sign on Bonus:
$10,000.00, full‑time status eligible
Responsibilities The Assessment Specialist – RN is responsible for receiving inquiry calls and facilitating timely face‑to‑face assessments or directing callers to appropriate community resources. Works within a behavioral health setting, conducts or ensures comprehensive assessments by qualified mental health professionals for individuals presenting with psychiatric, emotional, or substance use concerns. The role includes screening for medical and behavioral emergencies, providing high‑quality therapeutic care, and assisting patients in accessing appropriate treatment for substance abuse, dual diagnosis, or psychiatric disorders.

Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing or relevant state licensure required.
Current unencumbered RN license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility; direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients preferred.
Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.
Hourly range: $38.30 - 51.70 per hour
