Parts Counterperson

Provide customers (both internal and external) requested parts and accessories in a timely manner. In addition to specifying the correctly needed items, the Parts Counterperson is responsible to solicit additional sales; charges out merchandise using the Dealer Management System, follow-up on special orders, tag, store and process warranty parts, assist in conducting inventory cycle counts and keep inventory area, parts counter and retail area/displays clean and orderly.

Education High School

Experience Less than 1 year

Compensation $20-23/hour depending on experience

What You’ll Do:

Check in orders, pull orders, and put stock orders away

Look up parts in catalog, create quotes or invoices as needed

Create special order requests for parts not in stock and/or acquire in town if possible

Monitor special orders, upgrade parts if backorder

Keep good communication with customers, both internal and external

Actively do cycle counts on the inventory

Assist the manager with damage/shortage claims with the manufacturer

Deliver parts to the Technicians

Set up parts deliveries for wholesale customers

Assist all customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner

Scrap warranty and/or obsolete parts

All other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned

What You Bring:

Prior automotive retail/wholesale parts and/or Tekion experience is helpful

Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and work on your feet for extended periods of time

Ability to lift, lower, push, leverage, carry, and manipulate packages occasionally weighing up to 50 lbs.

Excellent customer service; organizational and communication skills

Must be able to work well as a member of a team and alone

Strong attention to detail

Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
