Market Development Manager – Northeast Reports to:

Contract Regional Manager | East

About the Role

Introduce and promote the Blu Dot brand, products, and custom capabilities to the contract, A+D, and dealer communities.

Position Blu Dot as a design leader and great resource for commercial projects.

Identify and build relationships with decision makers and influencers in the furniture design and selection process and related organizations throughout the life of a project.

Promote both existing products and exceptional custom design and service capabilities.

Meet and exceed quarterly territory and annual contract sales goals as dictated by the department director.

Primary Responsibilities

Establish relationships with contract, trade, procurement, and dealer channels to share information and build confidence in Blu Dot’s design and service capabilities. This includes architectural firms, interior design firms, hospitality companies, procurement agencies, contract furniture dealers, real‑estate developers, educational institutions, entertainment/restaurant groups, coworking spaces, and large corporations.

Meet regularly with customers/firms and prospect new customers through in‑person meetings, lunch and learns, product presentations, and subsequent email and phone follow‑up.

Direct quotes, purchases, and availability inquiries to the proper parties at Blu Dot.

Collaborate with local showroom‑based and HQ‑led Contract + Custom teams to pass along applicable inquiries and sales opportunities.

Provide a consultative sales experience for customers and guide them to the proper application. Articulate product knowledge mastery of our assortments, designs, and capabilities.

Stay on top of industry trends.

Help facilitate visitors’ experience with designs by providing examples and enabling showroom access.

Arrange meetings and showroom events for existing and prospective customers.

Identify and communicate tools and collateral needed to reach the contract/trade audience most effectively.

Maintain an accurate customer database in CRM (Pipedrive).

Communicate consistently and professionally, adhering to brand standards.

Prepare and present a year‑end market performance analysis, key accounts, and insights for the next fiscal year.

Oversee inventory and loaner program for in‑market demo items.

Engage actively in HQ‑lead trainings and product development feedback sessions.

Ideals Experience / Qualifications

College degree or equivalent.

No less than five years in a contract sales representative role.

Successful track record building and maintaining relationships and sales in targeted markets.

Established contact list of dealers, procurement agencies, A+D firms, and designers in the market.

Preferred experience with a modern design aesthetic.

Independent, entrepreneurial, professional, friendly, self‑motivated with deep design and market knowledge.

Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
