
Business Development Lead

The Lead BDR will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Business Development Representative team while actively participating in outbound business development efforts.
This role is responsible for:
- Leading outbound prospecting initiatives
- Coaching and mentoring BDR team members
- Driving qualified client meetings and opportunities
- Supporting alignment between sales, recruiting, and delivery teams
The Lead BDR plays a critical role in scaling new client acquisition and ensuring the success of the US Sales Pod.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support the BDR team in daily prospecting and outreach activities.
- Monitor team performance, activity levels, and pipeline development.
- Provide coaching on cold outreach, messaging, objection handling, and meeting generation.
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews and performance check-ins.
- Assist leadership in hiring, onboarding, and training new BDR team members.
- Promote accountability, organization, and consistent sales execution across the team.
Business Development
Actively participate in outbound prospecting including:
- Industry networking
Generate qualified meetings with decision-makers at companies hiring technology talent.
Build relationships with:
- Technology organizations with project needs
Drive new client acquisition while setting the standard for outbound excellence.
Pipeline & Opportunity Management
Oversee team pipeline development and ensure opportunities are properly documented in the company CRM system.
Maintain accurate reporting on:
- Opportunity progression
Ensure smooth handoff of qualified opportunities to the recruiting and delivery teams.
Support opportunity development through early sales stages.
Work closely with recruiting and delivery teams to align client requirements with available consulting talent.
Assist in positioning Tech Consulting’s value proposition and consulting services.
Ensure pricing and margin guidelines align with company sales governance standards.
Support the broader sales leadership team in driving successful client engagements.
Monitor technology consulting market trends, hiring demand, and emerging client needs.
Provide insights to refine outbound prospecting strategies and messaging.
Support leadership in improving outreach strategies, targeting approaches, and pipeline generation initiatives.
Help develop scalable processes for growing the sales development function.
Performance Expectations
The Lead BDR is responsible for both individual production and team performance.
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Qualified client meetings
- Placement contribution from BDR-generated opportunities
- Consistency and quality of CRM reporting
- Overall sales pod pipeline growth
The Lead BDR is expected to set the benchmark for outbound activity and opportunity generation within the team.
Qualifications
Required
3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition.
Proven experience generating business through outbound prospecting.
Strong leadership, mentoring, and team collaboration skills.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to work onsite in Atlanta, GA.
Preferred
Experience in staffing, consulting, or technology services.
Prior experience leading or mentoring sales development teams.
Experience selling to IT, engineering, or digital transformation teams.
Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Zoho or similar systems.
